Greetings friends and fellow book-lovers,
If you are receiving this email it’s because you have subscribed to the free version of FORMA, for which we are so grateful. Thank you! We’ve really enjoyed providing you with thoughtful coverage of important books and authors and, Lord willing, we plan to continue doing so. But in recent weeks we have had to make some changes to the way we operate and think about the future. We are not the only ones, of course, so please forgive me for dropping another such email into your inbox.
While we won’t be discontinuing our free coverage, we will be bringing our print subscriptions into the digital fold, so to speak. Moving forward, subscriptions to FORMA will be managed right here, through Substack, and will provide access to both the print editions and the digital content.
So whether you subscribe monthly or annually, you will receive:
2 print editions of FORMA each year (May and November)
2-3 digital reviews, interviews, and essays each week covering the best in contemporary books (and book-culture)
While we had hoped to continue delivering print editions on a quarterly basis, the economics of the current situation simply don’t permit it. So we’re adjusting. To make up for it, we’ll be expanding each issue by 12 pages, and we will continue to produce beautiful full-color magazines with heavy-duty paper stock that feels substantial in your hands. We are still committed to producing something worth contemplating.
Since you’ve been a loyal reader of our free digital content we want to offer 20% off this new structure.
We hope that you have a stack of good books on-hand, and maybe some good friends to chat about them with (over Zoom or Skype, of course). And hopefully we can participate in that conversation just a little bit over the next few months.
If you have any questions or concerns please do feel free to email me directly. I’m at your service.
Happy reading,
David Kern
Editor-in-Chief
Hi I would like to know how much is the subscription with 20% off as I am a pensioner in London and I am not working due to my health, also I don’t get any benefit from government.
